Q1) I asked equal numbers of both females and males because I want my music video to be targeted at both male and female audiences. This is because I do not want a music video which is targeted specifically at either males or Females.
Q2) I now know that 70% of people I asked are 16-18 so this is the target market I will aim my music video to and the age group which all my research will be focused on and will represent. This means that at each stage of my production, i will need toconsider the thoughts and opinions of people in this age range to ensure my product meets their expectations.
Q3) This has shown that70% of people watch music videos either every day or every other day, so I now know how much room there is in the market for my music video and that people are always watching new videos. Therefore I will understand how many people may watch my video and how often.
Q4) This shows me that people watch music videos in their home, so they like them to be convenient and do not want to have to make a lot of effort to find one. This means that I will need to make sure my music video will be in a place where people can watch it with minimum effort for example on the internet.
Q5) This shows me that 100% of people are not prepared to pay for a music video, which means my video will need to be free to watch if I want people to watch it. This is because if people have to pay to watch my product, but can watch others for free, they will ignore mine and watch the free alternatives instead.
Q6) This means that 100% of people watch music videos that are easy to watch and therefore if mine is not easy to access, less people will watch it. In the real media industry, fewer viewings of my product would loose me money.
Q7) This shows me that 37% of the people I asked would most enjoy to watch a music video to either pop or R n B music so I will produce my product to a song from either of these genre’s to ensure it is what my target audience want.
Q8) I now know that 60% of people prefer to watch a performance based music video. This means that I will make my music video a performance based one to ensure it meets their needs.
Q9) The people I interviewed did not have a preference between males and females being featured in music videos, so I will include a mixture of both to please them all.
Q10) Again this shows me that the people I asked did not have a clear preference between individuals and groups being featured in music videos, so I will have the freedom of choosing either or possible featuring both to please all of my target audience.
Q11) 80% of people I questioned kept up with music trends, so I will need to make sure I have a modern sounding song rather than an old fashioned track to please them and attract them to my product.
